In 1989£¬4.8 million children of age 7-14 were unable to attend school in China .83% of these children were girls .the shocking fact provoked deep reflection about girls education condition in rural area of China.
Girls are very often deprived of educational opportunity by their parents due to poverty and gender bios in rural area. Girls without education are married very young
In 1989, CCTF launched the "Spring Bud Project",which aimed to assist girls in poverty-stricken regions without access to education and to help them get back to school. According to an independent agency survey, during the past 18 years the Spring Bud Project has successfully helped sponsor the education and practical skills training of over 1,700,000 girls around China.
The Spring Bud Project is now operating in 30 provinces of China
